Juvenile Suspect Charged After Metro Station Robbery In Southwest Washington, D.C.

Monday, March 9, 2026, 8:00 A.M. ET. 3 Minute Read, By Art Fletcher: Englebrook Independent News,

WASHINGTON, DC.- The Metropolitan Police Department announced that an arrest has been made in connection with an armed robbery that occurred in Southwest Washington late last year, following a police investigation into a group of suspects who allegedly chased and assaulted a victim after the victim left a nearby Metro station.

     According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Jeffrey Carroll, the incident took place in the early morning hours of Saturday, December 20, 2025, at approximately 12:23 a.m., in the 300 block of G Street, Southwest, a residential and mixed-use area located near several government offices and the Waterfront Metro station.

     Investigators say the victim had just exited the Metro station and was walking through the area when multiple suspects began following the individual.

     Police allege the suspects were armed with firearms and soon chased the victim on foot, ultimately catching up to the victim and assaulting the individual before taking personal property.

     After the robbery, the suspects fled the scene before officers arrived, prompting an investigation by the Metropolitan Police Department’s detectives.

     Authorities confirmed that the victim was not injured during the incident. However, the robbery involved both physical assault and the use of firearms, elevating the seriousness of the crime under District law.

Juvenile Arrested In Investigation;

     Following more than two months of investigative work, police announced that an arrest has now been made in the case.

     On Sunday, March 1, 2026, Detectives executed a D.C. Superior Court Pre-Petition Custody Order, leading to the arrest of a 14-year-old juvenile male from Southeast Washington, D.C.

     The juvenile has been charged with Robbery, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

     Because the suspect is a minor, authorities have not released the juvenile’s name in accordance with District of Columbia laws governing juvenile defendants.

     Police have not publicly disclosed whether the juvenile acted as one of the armed assailants or what role he allegedly played in the robbery.

Police Continue Search For Additional Suspect;

     The investigation remains ongoing as Detectives continue efforts to identify at least one additional suspect believed to have participated in the robbery.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the remaining suspect was captured on a nearby surveillance camera and can be seen in the above photo. Investigators are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the individual.

     Authorities urge anyone who can identify the suspect or who may have information about the robbery to contact the Metropolitan Police Department. Tips can be submitted by calling (202) 727-9099 or by sending a text message to the Department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411.
