State, Federal, & Local Authorities Scour Remote Property After Newly Released Justice Department Documents Raise Allegations That Two Foreign Women May Have Been Buried On The Grounds

Wednesday, March 11, 2026, 7:50 P.M. ET. 5 Minute Read, By Jennifer Hodges, Political Editor: Englebrook Independent News,

SANDOVAL COUNTY, NM.-  Federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies continued a multi-day search on Wednesday of the sprawling New Mexico ranch formerly owned by deceased financier and convicted child sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, following the emergence of newly released documents suggesting that the remains of two foreign women may have been buried on the property years ago.

     The search operation began Monday, March 9, 2026, after the New Mexico Department of Justice announced it was reopening investigative activity at the remote ranch, known as Zorro Ranch, located roughly 40 miles southwest of Santa Fe. Authorities say the renewed scrutiny follows the release of previously undisclosed materials from the United States Department of Justice referencing allegations that two unidentified women died during sexual encounters at the ranch and were secretly buried on the property.

     According to state officials, the allegations claim the women, both believed to be foreign nationals, died from asphyxiation during sexual acts sometime prior to Epstein’s death in 2019. Investigators are now attempting to determine whether any physical evidence exists to corroborate those claims.

     “At the direction of Attorney General Torrez, the New Mexico Department of Justice initiated a search this morning of the Zorro Ranch property previously owned by Jeffrey Epstein, with the New Mexico State Police and Sandoval County Fire and Rescue K-9 team providing assistance.”

     The department confirmed the search is part of a broader criminal investigation launched February 19, 2026, into alleged illegal activity that may have occurred at the ranch during the years Epstein owned and operated the property.

     Authorities emphasized that the current owners of the ranch cooperated with investigators and granted full access to the property.

     “The New Mexico Department of Justice appreciates the cooperation of the current property owners in granting access for the search and extends its thanks to the ranch staff for their professionalism.”

Multi-Agency Investigation;

     Officials confirmed that the operation involves a coordinated effort between the New Mexico Department of Justice, New Mexico State Police, and specialized search teams from Sandoval County Fire and Rescue.

    The latter deployed trained K-9 units capable of detecting human remains beneath soil and debris, an investigative tool commonly used in suspected clandestine burial cases.

     While investigators have not publicly disclosed the precise areas being searched, aerial footage and satellite imagery of the property show that the ranch spans nearly 8,000 acres of rugged terrain, including multiple structures, outbuildings, and remote desert areas.

     Authorities have also requested that the public avoid the vicinity during the operation.

     “We urge the public to please stay away from the area and ground any drone activity nearby to avoid interfering with the ongoing law enforcement operation.”

     Law enforcement officials did not indicate whether any evidence or remains have been discovered thus far.

Renewed Focus On Epstein’s New Mexico Property;

     Zorro Ranch, purchased by Epstein in the early 1990s, has long been one of the most mysterious properties linked to the disgraced financier. The compound includes a large main residence, guest houses, stables, and other structures scattered across the high-desert landscape.

     Epstein, who was arrested in July 2019 on federal sex trafficking charges, died in custody at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York City the following month while awaiting trial. His death was ruled a suicide by the New York City medical examiner, though the circumstances surrounding his death have remained the subject of ongoing scrutiny and public debate.

     Prior to his death, Epstein had already pleaded guilty in 2008 to state prostitution charges in Florida related to the sexual abuse of underage girls.

     Although Epstein’s primary residence and many alleged criminal acts were tied to properties in Florida, New York, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, investigators and civil litigants have repeatedly raised questions about activities that may have occurred at the secluded New Mexico ranch.

     Several victims who later filed civil lawsuits against Epstein described being transported between his various properties, though the extent of alleged criminal conduct at Zorro Ranch has remained less documented than other locations.

Public Appeal For Information;

     The New Mexico Department of Justice is now actively seeking information from individuals who may have knowledge about events that occurred at the ranch during Epstein’s ownership.

     “The New Mexico Department of Justice will continue to keep the public appropriately informed, support the survivors, and follow the facts wherever they lead.”

     Authorities are urging anyone with credible information related to the property or individuals who may have visited the ranch to submit tips to investigators.

     Officials did not specify whether the allegations referenced in the newly released Justice Department materials originated from witness statements, intelligence reports, or other investigative sources.

Potential Implications;

    Legal experts say that if evidence of human remains were discovered at the ranch, it could trigger new criminal investigations, even years after Epstein’s death, potentially targeting individuals who may have been involved in concealing crimes or assisting Epstein’s alleged trafficking operations.

     Such discoveries could also reopen civil litigation avenues for victims and families, depending on the circumstances surrounding any deaths that might be uncovered.

     For now, investigators say the search remains focused on verifying the allegations and determining whether the claims documented in the newly released federal materials are credible.

     No arrests have been announced, and authorities stress that the investigation remains ongoing.
