Suspect Charged With Assault With A Dangerous Weapon Following Irving Street Incident In Northwest Washington, D.C.

WASHINGTON, DC.- The D.C. Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) has announced the arrest of a suspect in connection with a violent assault involving a handgun that occurred Sunday evening in Northwest Washington.

     According to MPD officials, the incident unfolded on March 15, 2026, in the 1100 block of Irving Street, Northwest. Officers assigned to the Third District were flagged down by a female victim who reported that she had just been assaulted by an individual armed with a handgun.

Authorities state that the suspect brandished the weapon and attempted to strike the victim with it, commonly referred to as “pistol whipping.” The victim was able to evade the attack and quickly sought assistance from nearby officers, leading to an immediate police response.

     Police Officers canvassed the area and located a suspect matching the description provided by the victim. The individual was taken into custody without further incident in close proximity to the reported assault location.

     The suspect has been identified as 28-year-old Ariel Isidro Fuentes Euceda, of Northwest Washington, D.C. He has been formally charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Pistol Whip).

     MPD has not released additional details regarding a possible motive or whether the victim and suspect were previously known to one another. The condition of the victim has not been publicly disclosed, though authorities indicated she was able to communicate with officers immediately following the incident.

     The case remains under investigation. Officials have not indicated whether additional charges may be forthcoming.
