Authorities Allege Inappropriate Contact With 16-Year-Old Inside Middlesex County Facility

NORTH BRUNSWICK, NJ.- A licensed nurse practitioner has been arrested and charged following allegations of assault involving a minor at a Middlesex County youth shelter, according to a joint announcement by Middlesex County Prosecutor Linda Estremera and North Brunswick Police Director Joseph Battaglia.
Authorities identified the suspect as 34-year-old Izee Dizon of Bridgewater, New Jersey. Dizon is facing charges of third-degree Aggravated Assault and third-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child stemming from an alleged incident that occurred earlier this month.
According to officials, the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office was notified on March 6, 2026, by the New Jersey Division of Child Protection and Permanency after a 16-year-old juvenile reported being assaulted inside the medical unit of the Middlesex County Youth Shelter.
An investigation was immediately launched by Detective Christopher Van Eerde of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit, alongside Detective Badway Badawy of the North Brunswick Police Department. Investigators determined that Dizon allegedly engaged in inappropriate physical and verbal contact with the minor while acting in a professional capacity within the shelter.
Law enforcement officials confirmed that Dizon was taken into custody without incident on March 8, 2026. No additional details regarding the nature of the alleged assault have been publicly disclosed at this time.
The Middlesex County Youth Shelter, which provides temporary housing and care for at-risk juveniles, maintains a structured environment that includes medical services for residents. Authorities have not indicated whether additional safeguards or internal reviews have been implemented following the incident.
