Man Fatally Gunned Down Tuesday Night In Southeast D.C.

WASHINGTON, DC.- Detectives of the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are continuing the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a 22-year-old man who was found dead Tuesday night on a Southeast, D.C. street.
According to Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, shortly after 6:30 p.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Seventh District responded to reports of a shooting on the 2900 Block of Knox Place in Southeast, D.C.
Police Find Man Shot Dead On Knox Place
Upon arrival, Police Officers and First Responders found a man, later identified as Dar’juan McRoy, 22, of Southeast, D.C., having succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds. Mr. McRoy was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene by DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made as Detectives continue the search for the gunman and a motive for the fatal shooting.
