Edgewater Man Charged With Child Pornography Offenses

EDGEWATER, NJ.- On Wednesday, following an investigation, a 63-year-old Edgewater, New Jersey, man was taken into custody and jailed after being charged in connection with allegedly distributing and possessing digital images and video files depicting the sexual exploitation and abuse of children.
According to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella, on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, Detectives of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit executed a court-authorized search warrant at the Edgewater, New Jersey residence of James T. Reilly, 63, during a the course of a internet child pornography investigation.
Detectives Uncover Child Pornography
The investigation uncovered that Reilly had utilized the internet to view, download, possess, and distribute digital images and video files depicting the horrific sexual exploitation and sexual abuse of prepubescent children.
Accordingly, on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, Reilly was taken into custody at the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office in Paramus, New Jersey, and was formally charged with second-degree Distribution of Child Pornography; and third-degree Possession of Child Pornography.
Reilly was processed on the charges and was remanded to the Bergen County Jail, pending future court proceedings in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, New Jersey.
