Mexican Man Charged With Illegal Reentry, Identity Theft & Fraud Offenses

WILLIAMSPORT, PA.- On Wednesday, April 23, 2025, a Federal Grand Jury for the Middle District of Pennsylvania returned an indictment charging Herminio Lopez-Gervacio, 50, a Mexican national, illegally residing in Loganton, Pennsylvania, with Illegal Reentry Into the United States by a Previously Deported Alien; Possession of a Fraudulent Document; and Aggravated Identity Theft.
According to Acting U.S. Attorney John C. Gurganus and charging information unsealed in the indictment, it is alleged that on or about February 17, 2025, Lopez-Gervacio was encountered illegally in Clinton County, Pennsylvania, after having been previously removed from the United States. The indictment further alleges that Lopez-Gervacio had been removed from the United States on May 5, 2011, through El Paso, Texas, and reentered the country without obtaining permission or legal authorization to do so.
The indictment also alleges that when Lopez-Gervacio was encountered and arrested in Clinton County, Pennsylvania, he was in possession of fraudulent documents using another person’s identifying information. Lopez-Gervacio will remain in federal custody pending trial.
