Robbinsville Woman Charged With Child In Connection With Child’s Death

ROBBINSVILLE, NJ.- The Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office has confirmed that following an investigation, a 36-year-old Robbinsville, New Jersey, woman was taken into custody on Monday and jailed after being charged in connection with neglecting four children after they were found alone Sunday night inside a Robbinsville home, following receiving a report of an unresponsive child.

     According to Mercer County Prosecutor Janetta D. Marbrey, on Sunday evening, April 27, 2025, members of the Robbinsville Township Police Department responded to a residence located on Raven Road in the Township. Upon arrival, Police Officers found the girl, who was immediately transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased a short time later.

     On Monday, April 28, 2025, Raphaelle Register, 36, of Robbinsville, was taken into custody and charged with four counts of second-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Register was processed on the charges and was remanded to the Mercer County Correctional Center, pending future court proceedings in Mercer County Superior Court in Trenton, New Jersey. The Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office has filed a motion with the court to have Register detained pending trial.

According To The Charging Information Filed In The Complaint

     According to the charging information filed in the criminal complaint, which states that Register had a legal duty to care for two five-year-olds, an eight-year-old, and a twelve-year-old, all of whom she left unattended. The complaint further states that she failed to adequately feed and nourish the five-year-olds and provide access to necessary medical treatment, thereby making the children abused or neglected.

     An autopsy was performed on Monday afternoon by the Middlesex County Medical Examiner’s Office. The Cause and Manner of the Child’s Death are pending further toxicology testing and additional investigation. Additional charges may be filed upon the final determination of the Medical Examiner’s Office. It is unclear what the relationship is between the children and Register.
