Trenton Man Charged In Double Shooting Homicide

TRENTON, NJ.- On Monday, a 37-year-old Trenton, New Jersey, man was taken into custody and jailed after being charged in connection with a double shooting that occurred in the early morning hours of April 19, 2025, claiming the life of a 38-year-old Trenton, New Jersey man and left a woman injured.
According to Mercer County Prosecutor Janetta D. Marbrey, on Monday, April 28, 2025, Naquan Green, 37, of Trenton, was taken into custody and formally charged with first-degree Murder; first-degree Attempted Murder; second-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon; and second-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose.
Green was processed on the charges and remanded to the Mercer County Correctional Center, pending future court proceedings in Mercer County Superior Court, Trenton, New Jersey. The Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office has filed a motion with the court to have Green detained pending trial.
Charges Stem From An Investigation
The charges stem from an investigation that began on Saturday, April 19, 2025, when shortly before 4:15 a.m., members of the Trenton Police Department, while on patrol on the 300 Block of East State Street, heard multiple gunshots. Within minutes, additional Trenton Police Department Patrol Units responded to a multishot ShotSpotter activation on the 200 Block East State Street in the City.
Upon arrival, Police Officers located two adults, a man and a woman, suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were immediately transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center, where, despite life-saving measures, the man, identified as Marquis Skillman, 38, of Trenton, New Jersey, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased a short time later. The 39-year-old woman was admitted to the hospital to be treated for a gunshot wound to her leg.
