Morris County Man Sentenced For Sending Sexually Explicit Photos To A Child

HANOVER TOWNSHIP, NJ.- A 40-year-old Hanover Township, New Jersey, child predator will be spending the next three years in New Jersey State Prison after being sentenced on Tuesday for engaging in sexually explicit conversations with a 9-year-old child residing in North Carolina.
According to Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, Brian J. Cariddi, 40, of Hanover Township, appeared in Morris County Superior Court and was sentenced by Superior Court Judge Claudia Jones to 3 years in New Jersey State Prison, subject to an 18-month parole ineligibility for his previously entered guilty plea.
In addition to the term of imprisonment, Judge Jones ordered Cariddi to register as a sex offender under Megan’s Law and be subject to parole supervision for life. Judge Jones also ordered that Cariddi have no contact with the child.
Cariddi had previously appeared on November 12, 2024, in Morris County Superior Court and pleaded guilty before Judge Jones to one count of second-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
Detectives Uncover Sexually Explicit Conversations
During an investigation into online sexual exploitation, Detectives uncovered that between December 11, 2022, and January 10, 2023, Cariddi engaged in sexually explicit conversations with then a 9-year-old child. During the conversations, Cariddi exposed his intimate parts online with the child and asked the child to send him images of their intimate parts. As a result of the investigation, Cariddi was taken into custody and charged on March 8, 2024. He has remained detained in the Morris County Correctional Facility since his arrest.
