Altoona Man Sentenced For Child Sex Crimes

JOHNSTOWN, NJ.- A 48-year-old Altoona, Pennsylvania, man learned on Tuesday that he would be spending the next six-and-a-half years in federal prison after being sentenced for transporting and possessing digital images depicting the sexual exploitation of a child.
On Tuesday, April 29, 2025, Kevin Myers, 48, of Altoona, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Stephanie L.Haines to 78 months in federal prison, to be followed by 20 years of supervised release, on his convictions Transporting Child Pornography; and Possession of Child Pornography.
According To The U.S. Attorney’s Office
According to Acting U.S. Attorney Troy Rivetti and charging documents filed with the District Court, beginning in December 2020 and lasting through December 2021, Myers transported and possessed digital images depicting the sexual exploitation and abuse of a child.
The digital images were produced using materials that were shipped or transported in interstate or foreign commerce through the Internet.

The case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the U.S. Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
