Police Charge Man In Last Month’s Northeast Shooting Incident

WASHINGTON, DC.- On Saturday, May 3, 2025, a 30-year-old man was taken into custody and jailed after being charged in connection with a shooting incident that occurred last month in Northeast, D.C.
According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A Smith, on Saturday, April 19, 2025, shortly after 6:30 p.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department responded to a report of a shooting on 57th Place in Northeast, D.C.
Police Learn A Fight Escalated Into A Shooting
Upon arrival, Police Officers learned that the victim and the suspect became involved in a verbal dispute. During the dispute, the suspect made derogatory comments toward the victim. The dispute then escalated into a physical altercation, at which time the suspect pulled out a handgun and shot at the victim. An additional suspect also shot in the direction of the victim.
The victim was able to escape injury, but their vehicle was struck by gunfire as the suspects fled the scene.
On Saturday, May 3, 2025, Issac Rogers, 30, with no known address, was arrested for another incident. During the arrest, it was discovered that Rogers was wanted for the April 19, 2025, shooting and was additionally charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon for the shooting.
Rogers was processed on the charge and was remanded to the DC Central Detention Facility, pending future court proceedings in the Superior Court for the District of Columbia.
