Arrest Made In Northeast D.C. Fatal Shooting

Police Charge Man In February 2025 Northeast Shooting Death

WASHINGTON, DC.- Yesterday, a 42-year-old Northwest, D.C., man was taken into custody and jailed after being charged in connection with fatally gunning down a man that occurred on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, in Northeast, D.C.

     According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at around 9:45 p.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s First District responded to reports of a shooting on the 700 Block of H Street in Northeast, D.C.

Police Officers Find Mr. Parson Shot Dead On H Street

     Upon arrival, Police Officers discovered a man, later identified as Jaydon Parson, 23, of Northwest, D.C., unresponsive, lying on the street, having succumbed from multiple gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services pronounced Mr. Parson deceased at the scene.

     During the ensuing investigation, Detectives of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch were able to identify Dione Dorn, 42, of Northwest, D.C., as the shooter and the individual responsible for the death of Mr. Parson. Following being identified, a warrant was issued for his arrest.

     On Wednesday, May 7, 2025, pursuant to a D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force located and arrested Dorn and formally charged him with first-degree Murder While Armed. Dorn was processed on the charge and was remanded to the D.C. Central Detention Facility, pending future court proceedings in the Superior Cort for the District of Columbia.
