CLARKSBURG, W.VA.- On Wednesday, a 36-year-old Clarksburg, West Virginia, man learned he would most likely be in his late fifties or early sixties when he finally is released from federal prison after being sentenced to over two decades for methamphetamine trafficking.
According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Zelda Wesley, on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, Kevin Herve Cayemitte, 36, of Clarksburg, West Virginia, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia and was sentenced by Chief U.S. District Court Judge Thomas S. Kleeh to 300 months in federal prison, to be followed by four years of supervised release on his conviction of two counts of Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine.
According To Documents Filed With The District Court
According to charging documents filed in the District Court, during an ongoing narcotics investigation into the distribution of illicit narcotics in the Northern District of West Virginia, Federal Investigators received a tip that Cayemitte was selling methamphetamine from multiple locations in Harrison and Lewis Counties.
During the investigation, Investigators intercepted a package mailed from Los Angeles, California, to Cayemitte’s campsite. A subsequent court-authorized search of the package uncovered nearly 2,000 grams of methamphetamine.
Subsequent court-authorized searches of properties utilized by Cayemitte resulted in the recovery and seizure of additional quantities of methamphetamine and firearms. Following the investigation, Cayemitte, who has prior criminal felony convictions, was taken into custody and charged, resulting in court proceedings, which led to Wednesday’s federal prison term.
