Newark Man Hospitalized After Being Struck By Gunfire On A Paterson Street

PATERSON, NJ.- Passaic County authorities are continuing the investigation into the circumstances surrounding a Saturday night shooting that left a 31-year-old Newark, New Jersey, man hospitalized from a gunshot wound. 

     According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes, on Saturday, May 10, 2025, just minutes before 8:30 p.m., members of the Paterson Police Department responded to reports of gunfire near the intersection of Rosa Parks Boulevard and Goodwin Avenue in the City of Paterson.

Police Find Newark Man Shot

     Upon arrival, Police Officers discovered a 31-year-old Newark, New Jersey man, suffering from a non-left-threatening gunshot wound. The man was immediately transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center for treatment. The victim’s condition is unknown at this time. During the initial investigation, Detectives were able to recover ballistic evidence at the location.

     The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made, as Detectives are continuing the search for the gunman and a motive for the shooting.
