The charges stem from an investigation that began during the evening hours of Tuesday, May 7, 2025, when a woman reported to Police that after she refused Jones’ demands to engage in sexual intercourse, he struck her multiple times on her head with a rock, knocking her to the ground, and used a sharp glass object to stab her. Jones then ripped her clothes and sexually assaulted her. The woman remains hospitalized due to the nature of her injuries.

On Wednesday, during Jones’ arrest, law enforcement officers found Jones in possession of what they believed to be suspected heroin, resulting in the drug charge.
