Teen Fatally Gunned Down Friday Night In Northeast D.C.

WASHINGTON, DC.- A 17-year-old Northeast, D.C., boy became the latest victim to fall prey to gun violence in the Nation’s Capital City after gunfire erupted early Friday night in Northeast, D.C.

     According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Friday, May 16, 2025, just shortly after 6:30 p.m., while on routine patrol, members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Fifth District responded to sounds of gunshots in the rear of the 1200 Block of Meigs Place in Northeast, D.C.

Police Officers FInd Teenage Boy Shot

     Upon arrival, Police Officers discovered a teenage male, later identified as Naquan Johnson, 17, of Northeast, D.C., unresponsive from multiple gunshot wounds. Mr. Johnson was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene by DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services.

     During the initial investigation, Responding Police Officers and Detectives determined that the fatal shooting occurred in the rear alley of the 1200 Block of Holbrook Terrace in Northeast, D.C. Police recovered evidence of a shooting crime scene at the location.

     The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made as Detectives continue the investigation into the circumstances that led up to the shooting.
