Man Shot And Killed Saturday Night In Southwest, D.C.

WASHINGTON, DC.- The D.C. Metropolitan Police Department is actively investigating the shooting death of a 32-year-old Southwest, D.C. man who was fatally gunned down Saturday night in Southwest, D.C., as gun violence continues to plague the Nation’s Capitol City.

     According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Saturday, May 17, 2025, just shortly before 7:30 p.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Seventh District responded to reports of gunfire on the 100 Block of Irvington Street in Southwest, D.C.

Police Find Man Shot On Street

     Upon arrival, Police Officers found a man, later identified as Christopher Rashad Riles, 32, of Southwest, D.C., unresponsive from multiple gunshot wounds. Mr. Riles was immediately transported by DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services to a nearby hospital, where, despite life-saving efforts, Mr. Riles succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased shortly upon arrival.

     The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made as Detectives continue the search for the gunman and a motive for the shooting death of Mr. Riles.
