Maryland Man Shot Dead On Tuesday In Northeast D.C.

WASHINGTON, DC.- Detectives are continuing the investigation into the shooting death of a 31-year-old Temple Hills, Maryland, man who was gunned down on a sidewalk on Tuesday afternoon in Northeast, D.C.

     According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, just shortly before 2:00 p.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Fifth District responded to reports of a shooting on the 800 Block of 26th Street in Northeast, D.

Police Find Man Shot Dead On The Sidewalk Outside School

     Upon arrival, Police Officers found a man, later identified as Kian-Wayne Magruder, 31, of Temple Hills, Maryland, on the sidewalk, having succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds. Mr. Magruder was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene by DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services.

     The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made as Detectives are continuing the search for three gunmen who exited a vehicle and fired multiple rounds at Mr. Magruder, killing him as he walked on the sidewalk where a track event was taking place at an elementary school.
