CONCORD, NH.- A 48-year-old Dunbarton, New Hampshire, man, and previously convicted child predator will be spending over a decade in federal prison after being sentenced on Monday for possessing digital images and video files depicting the sexual exploitation and abuse of prepubescent and pubescent children.

According to Acting U.S. Attorney Jay McCormack, on Monday, May 19, 2025, Scott Currier, 48, of Dunbarton, New Hampshire, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Hampshire and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Samantha Elliot to 144 months in federal prison, to be followed by ten years of supervised release for his previously entered guilty plea. In addition, Judge Elliott ordered Currier to pay $38,000 in restitution to his identified victims.

Currier had previously appeared in Federal Court in Concord, New Hampshire, in May 2024 and pleaded guilty to one count of Possession of Child Pornography.

“The defendant is a convicted sex offender who repeatedly exploited children,” said Acting U.S. Attorney Jay McCormack. “Thanks to the vigilant efforts and critical leads from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, law enforcement was able to identify the defendant and swiftly investigate his conduct. This office will relentlessly pursue and hold predators accountable and will use every tool at our disposal to protect children from exploitation and revictimization.”

Currier Was Identified As Possessing Child Porn

The guilty plea and Monday’s sentence stem from an investigation that began when Currier was identified through a CyberTip reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children based on internet child pornography activity that was traced to Currier’s residence.

Based on the CyberTip, Investigators obtained and executed a court-authorized search warrant at Currier’s Dunbarton, New Hampshire home. During the search, investigators seized a computer, and a subsequent forensic examination of the device uncovered 700 media files containing digital images and video files depicting child pornography.
