Police Searching For Suspect In Tuesday’s Targeted Shooting Death

WASHINGTON, DC.- The D.C. Metropolitan Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a 20-year-old Southeast, D.C., man wanted in connection with fatally gunning down a 32-year-old woman following a dispute in the Anacostia neighborhood Tuesday afternoon in Southeast, D.C.
According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Tuesday, March 27, 2025, just shortly after 12:30 p.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department responded to reports of a shooting on the 2300 Block of Pitts Place in Southeast, D.C.
Police Officers Find Ms. Parker Shot Dead
Upon arrival, Police Officers found a woman, later identified as Tequila Parker, 32, of Southeast, D.C., unresponsive, having succumbed to a gunshot wound. Ms. Parker was pronounced deceased at the scene by DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services.
During the ensuing investigation, Detectives and responding Police Officers learned that prior to the shooting, Ms Parkers was involved in a dispute with neighbors when gunfire erupted, killing her. Based on witness statements, Detectives were able to identify Mercury Ford, 20, of Southeast, D.C., as the suspect and the individual responsible for the shooting death of Ms. Parker. Following being identified, Detectives formally charged Ford with first-degree Murder While Armed.
Ford Remains On The Run
