ROCHESTER, NY.- A 34-year-old Corning, New York, man, and previously convicted sex offender learned he would be spending over the next three decades in federal prison after being sentenced on Wednesday for sexually abusing a child and creating child pornography.
According to U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo, on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, Ryan M. Newman, 34, of Corning, New York, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Meredith A. Vacca to 420 months in federal prison, to be followed by fifteen years of supervised release for his conviction of Production of Child Pornography.
Newman Was Previously Convicted Of Child Pornography Crimes
According to the criminal documents filed with the District Court, Newman, who had been previously convicted of child pornography crimes in New York State Court in 2012, was sentenced to a State Prison term and 10 years of probation and was required to register as a Level 3 sex offender.
In January 2021, members of the New York State Police received a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding a Snapchat user who had uploaded a video file depicting the sexual exploitation and abuse of a child.
During the ensuing investigation, Investigators identified Newman as the Snapchat user. In 2022, Investigators obtained and executed a court-authorized search warrant on Newman’s person and his residence. The search uncovered that Newman uploaded the video file of child pornography to Snapchat and possessed other digital images and video files of child pornography. Newman was allowed to remain free pending further investigation.
In April 2024, the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Corning Field Office received a tip that pornography involving a young child in the Corning, New York, area was being distributed to an undercover Investigator in Illinois. During a subsequent investigation, Investigators determined that Newman sexually abused the young child and produced child pornography that he distributed. Newman was taken into custody by federal agents and has remained in federal custody since his 2024 arrest. Â
