Guatemalan Man Sentenced For Illegal Reentry Into The United States

BOSTON, MA.- A 29-year-old Guatemalan national illegally residing in Lynn, Massachusetts, will be spending the next half a year in federal prison after being sentenced on Tuesday for being unlawfully in the United States by a previously deported alien.
According to U.S. Attorney Leah B. Foley, on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, Domingo Valentin Solis-De Leon, 29, of Guatemala, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton to six months in federal prison, to be followed by one year of supervised release for his previously entered guilty plea to a federal felony immigration offense.
Solis-De Leon Will Face Immediate Deportation Upon Release
Solis-De Leon, upon completion of his term of imprisonment, will face immediate deportation proceedings and be removed from the United States. On April 8, 2025, Solis-De Leon appeared in District Court and pleaded guilty to one count of Illegal Reentry into the United States by a Previously Deported Alien.
According to the charging documents filed with the District Court, on January 8, 2014, the United States Border Patrol arrested Solis-De Leon near Hidalgo, Texas, after entering the United States illegally. Solis-De Leon was ordered removed and sent back to Guatemala.
Solis-De Leon Arrested For Domestic Violence
   On January 6, 2024, immigration officials learned that Solis-De Leon was illegally present in the United States after he was taken into custody in Lynn, Massachusetts. According to the state charging documents, Solis-De Leon was arrested on Massachusetts state charges of assault and battery on a family or household member, and the charge remains pending in Lynn District Court. He was subsequently released from state custody and rearrested by immigration officials on January 28, 2025, in Lynn, Massachusetts.
