Man Fatally Gunned Down Thursday Night On Long Branch Beach

LONG BRANCH, NJ.- Detectives of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Bureau and the Long Branch Police Department are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a man who was found dead on the Long Branch beach Thursday night.

     According to Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago, on Thursday, June 12, 2025, just shortly before 9:00 p.m., members of the Long Branch Police Department responded to reports of gunfire on the beach area between the shoreline and the boardwalk of Pier Village in Long Branch.

Police Officers Find Man Shot Dead On Beach

     Upon arrival, Police Officers located an adult male unresponsive on the beach, having succumbed to a gunshot wound. The man was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene. During the initial investigation, Detectives determined that this was an apparently isolated shooting, and there is no threat to the public at this time.

     The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made as Detectives continue the search for the gunman and a motive for the shooting.

     The investigative team is requesting that anyone who may have been on the beach or in the vicinity at that time and has first-hand video footage of the incident on their phones or electronic devices to please come forward. Please be advised that Detectives are aware of videos posted to local social media platforms and that they are not seeking links to videos posted by others.
