MONTVILLE, NJ.- On Wednesday, June 11, 2025, following an investigation, a 34-year-old Montville, New Jersey, man was taken into custody and charged with alleged child pornography offenses.
According to Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, Matthew Mannarano, 34, of Montville, New Jersey, was formally charged with one count of second-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child for the Distribution of Child Pornography; and third-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child for Possession of Child Pornography.
Mannarano was taken into custody on Wednesday. After being processed on the charges, Mannarano was released on pretrial release conditions, including no unsupervised contact with children.
Charges Are The Result Of An ICAC Investigation
The charges stem from an investigation that began when the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force of the Sex Crimes/Child Endangerment Unit received a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding digital images and video files depicting the sexual exploitation and abuse of prepubescent and pubescent children being allegedly distributed through Kik Instant Messaging application.
During the ensuing investigation, Detectives of the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office and the Monville Police Department identified Mannarano as the owner of the Kik Instant Messenger account and the individual who was uploading and distributing the media files depicting child pornography to others.
If convicted at trial, Mannarano faces up to 10 years in New Jersey State Prison, parole supervision for life, and will be required to register as a sex offender under Megan’s Law restraints.
Prosecutor Carroll is asking anyone with information regarding this investigation to contact the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force of the Sex Crimes/Child Endangerment Unit within the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office at (973) 285-6200. All calls will be kept confidential.
