Boston Man Pleads Guilty To Child Pornography Offense

BOSTON, MA.- A 59-year-old Boston, Massachusetts, man, and a convicted child rapest and Level 3 sex offender could potentially be facing up to 20 years in federal prison when sentenced after pleading guilty on Monday, to a federal child pornography offense.

     According to U.S. Attorney Leah B. Foley, Bryan Horgan, 59, of Boston, Massachusetts, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts and pleaded guilty before U.S. District Court Judge Indira Talwani to Possession of Child Pornography.

Judge Talwani Schedules Sentencing For September 18, 2025

     Following entering his guilty plea on Monday, Judge Talwani accepted the plea and scheduled sentencing for September 18, 2025. At that time, Horgan faces a mandatory minimum of ten years and up to 20 years in federal prison, as well as at least five years and up to a lifetime of supervised release, and a fine of up to $250,000. At sentencing, a U.S. District Court Judge will determine the term of imprisonment based on the seriousness of the offense and Horgan’s prior criminal history.

     Horgan, who was initially arrested and charged by a federal criminal complaint on April 26, 2024, and was formally indicted by a Federal Grand Jury for the District of Massachusetts in June 2025, has remained in custody since his initial arrest.

Horgan Admits To Possessing Child Pornography

     According to charging information previously unsealed in the indictment, during an internet child pornography investigation, Horgan was identified as the owner of a Microsoft account that was being utilized to view and upload digital images and video files depicting the sexual exploitation and abuse of children. During a court-authorized search of Horgan’s residence, Investigators located and seized an electronic device that contained video files of child pornography, including many of infants.

Horgan Was Previously Convicted Of Raping A Child

     Horgan is a registered Level 3 sex offender after previously being convicted in Suffolk Superior Court of rape of a child, assault to rape a child, indecent assault and battery on a child, and production and possession of child pornography.
