Man Shot & Killed Early Friday Morning Inside Southeast Apartment

WASHINGTON, DC.- The D.C. Metropolitan Police Department is continuing the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a 29-year-old Northeast, D.C., man who was fatally gunned down inside a 4th Street apartment early Friday morning in Southeast, D.C.
According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Friday, June 27, 2025, just shortly before 2:00 a.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Seventh District responded to a report of a disturbance on the 4200 Block of 4th Street in Southeast, D.C.
Police Officers Find Man Fatally Shot Inside Apartment
Upon arrival, Police Officers located a man, later identified as Deandre Lewis, 29, of Northeast, D.C., unresponsive, having succumbed to a gunshot wound. Mr. Lewis was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene by DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made, as Detectives continue the search for the gunman and the circumstances which led up to the shooting death of Mr. Lewis.
