Phillipsburg Man Charged With Stabbing 3 People In Last Saturday’s Dispute

PHILIPSBURG, NJ.- Last Saturday, a 35-year-old Phillipsburg, New Jersey, man was taken into custody and jailed after being charged in connection with injuring three, one critically, in an early morning stabbing in the Town of Phillipsburg, New Jersey.
According to Acting Warren County Prosecutor Jessica L. Cardone, on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at around 5:45 a.m., members of the Phillipsburg Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a stabbing at a residence located at 7 Brainard Street in the Town of Phillipsburg.
Police Officers Apprehend Suspect And Find Victims
Upon arrival, Police Officers made entry into the residence, where they immediately stopped the assault and took the suspect, identified as Marquis W. Pierce, 35, of Phillipsburg, into custody. Police Officers initially identified two individuals who sustained stab wounds, one of whom sustained life-threatening injuries. Both individuals were immediately transported to an area hospital for treatment.
A short time later, while at the scene, Police Officers located a third stabbing victim who sustained a stab wound and was also transported to the hospital for treatment.
Pierce Wanted On An Active Warrant Out Of Pennsylvania
During the initial investigation, Police Officers learned that all of the individuals, including Pierce, were known to one another, and during an apparent dispute, Pierce allegedly began stabbing the other individuals. Police Officers also uncovered that Pierce was wanted on an active arrest warrant stemming from an incident in Easton, Pennsylvania.
Accordingly, following the initial investigation, Pierce was formally charged with one count of first-degree Attempted Murder; second-degree Aggravated Assault; two counts of third-degree Aggravated Assault; third-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; and fourth-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.
Pierce Is Additional Charge With A Fugitive From Justice
In addition to the charges filed as a result of the stabbing investigation, Pierce was charged as a Fugitive From Justice in connection with the arrest warrant out of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Pierce was processed on the charges and was remanded to the Warren County Correctional Center, pending future proceedings in Warren County Superior Court in Belvidere, New Jersey. The Warren County Prosecutor’s Office has filed a motion with the court to have Pierce detained pending trial.
