Brookhaven Federal Immigration Officer Charged With Soliciting Bribes

PHILADELPHIA, PA.- On Thursday, June 27, 2025, U.S. Attorney David Metcalf reported that following an investigation, Amara Dukuly, 43, of Brookhaven, Pennsylvania, employed as an immigration officer with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, was taken into custody and charged by federal criminal complaint with Bribery of a Public Official, in connection in a years long bribery scheme.

     According to the charging information filed in the criminal complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. It is alleged that from approximately 2015 to the present, Dukuly used his status as a U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services employee to solicit payments from individuals in exchange for promises to assist them in obtaining adjustments to their immigration status, such as green cards, work authorization documents, or visas.

Dukuly Solicited And Received Bribes

     It is further alleged in the criminal complaint that, given the scope of his employment duties, Dukuly did not have the authority to perform any of the actions he promised to these individuals. After corruptly seeking, receiving, and accepting money in return for being influenced in the performance of an official act, Dukuly took the money for his personal gain.
