Ocean County Man Pleads Guilty To Unlawful Possession Of A Firearm

BRICK TOWNSHIP, NJ.- A 42-year-old Brick Township, New Jersey, man will be facing a five-year New Jersey State Prison term, when sentenced, after pleading guilty last Friday to possessing a stolen handgun.
According to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer, on Friday, June 27, 2025, Justin Holden, 52, of Brick Township, New Jersey, appeared in Ocean County Superior Court and pleaded guilty before Superior Court Judge Kenneth T. Palmer to Unlawful Possession of a Handgun. In return for the guilty plea, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office will recommend that Holden be sentenced to five years in State Prison, subject to a 42-month parole ineligibility.

According to court documents, on February 27, 2024, during an ongoing investigation, members of the Brick Township Police Department Special Emergency Response Team obtained and executed court-authorized search warrants at a home located on Rocky Mountain Boulevard, as well as a vehicle owned by Holden. During the search, Police Officers located and seized a Glock G43 9mm semi-automatic handgun and hollow point ammunition.
During a subsequent records check of the gun, Investigators learned that the handgun had been reported stolen out of the State of Georgia. Accordingly, a warrant was issued for Holden’s arrest in connection with possessing the stolen firearm.
On March 11, 2024, Holden was located and taken into custody by members of the Brick Township Police Department. Holden was processed on the charge and was remanded to the Ocean County Jail. Following a detention hearing, Holden was released on bail monitoring conditions. Holden is currently detained in the Ocean County Jail on an unrelated matter.
