Police Charge Man In July 4th Northwest D.C. Stabbing

WASHINGTON, DC.- The D.C. Metropolitan Police Department has charged a 43-year-old man in connection with the July 4th late-night stabbing of a man that occurred on G Street in Northwest, D.C.

     According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A Smith, on Friday, July 4, 2025, just shortly before 11:30 p.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Second District responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a deranged individual brandishing a knife on the 900 Block of G Street in Northwest, D.C.

Police Officers Find Man Suffering From Stab Wounds

     Upon arrival, Police Officers found a man suffering from multiple stab wounds who was also pepper-sprayed. The man was immediately transported by DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services to a nearby hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released.

     A short time later, based on the description provided by the victim, Police Officers located an individual matching the suspect’s description and placed Aaren Striplin, 43, with no known address, under arrest. During the arrest procedure, Striplin was found to be in possession of a knife and pepper spray. Accordingly, Striplin was formally charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.

     Striplin was processed on the charge and was remanded to the D.C. Central Detention Facility pending future court proceedings in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.
