Eighteen-Year-Old Atlantic City Man Charged In 2024 Shooting Homicide

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ.- On Tuesday, an 18-year-old Atlantic City, New Jersey, man was taken into custody and jailed after being charged in connection with gunning down two men, one fatally, outside an Atlantic City mobile phone store in November 2024.
According to Atlantic County Prosecutor William E. Reynolds, during the afternoon hours on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, members of the U.S. Marshals Service Regional Fugitive Task Force and the Atlantic City Police Department arrested the man, identified as N.D., 18, at his Atlantic City residence. N.D. was taken into custody for the November 16, 2024, shooting death of Jaiden Perez, 19, of Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Following Being Taken Into Custody, N.D. Was Charged
Following being taken into custody, N.D., who was 17 years old at the time of the shooting, was formally charged with juvenile delinquency with first-degree Murder; first-degree Conspiracy to Commit Murder, and related weapons and theft offenses. He was processed on the charges at the Atlantic City Police Department and is being detained in the Harbor Fields Atlantic Youth Detention Center in Egg Harbor City, New Jersey, pending future court proceedings in Atlantic County Superior Court Family Law Division.
According To Court Documents
According to the charging information filed with the Superior Court, on November 16, 2024, members of the Atlantic City Police Department responded to reports of shots fired on the 1500 Block of Atlantic Avenue in the City. Upon arrival, Police Officers located two men, both having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Both men were immediately transported to Atlantic City Medical Center for treatment.
On December 14, 2024, despite life-saving efforts, one of the men, Mr. Perez, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. A preliminary autopsy determined the Cause of Mr. Perez’s Death to be a gunshot wound to the chest and the Manner of Death to be Homicide.
The second man was treated for his injuries and was released from the hospital a short time after the shooting.
During the ensuing investigation, Detectives determined that a group of individuals were standing on Atlantic Avenue around the Boost Mobile Store when multiple rounds were fired in their direction, striking Mr Perez and the other man. Detectives later identified N.D. as the shooter and the individual responsible for the shooting death of Mr. Perez.
