Salvadorian Man Convicted & Sentenced For Illegal Reentry Into The U.S.

CONCORD, NH.- Last Thursday, a 30-year-old El Salvadorian national was turned over to federal immigration officials after pleading guilty and being sentenced for illegally reentering the United States after having been previously deported on three separate occasions.

     According to Acting U.S. Attorney Jay McCormack, on Thursday, July 10, 2025, Juan Ruiz, 30, of El Salvador, illegally residing in Manchester, New Hampshire, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Hampshire and pleaded guilty before U.S. District Court Judge Samantha D. Elliott to Illegal Reentry into the United States by a Deported Alien. 

     After entering his guilty plea, Judge Elliott immediately sentenced Ruiz to time served, or two months. Ruiz was remanded to the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials to be deported back to El Salvador.

According To Court Documents, Ruiz Was Deported Three Times

     According to court documents, Ruiz illegally entered the United States previously on three separate occasions and was deported on June 12, 20216, May 18, 2017, and October 14, 2021. During the evening hours of April 22, 2025, members of the Manchester Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a domestic violence incident at Ruiz’s Manchester, New Hampshire apartment.

     Upon arrival, Police Officers arrested Ruiz for simple assault. During the arrest procedure, Police Officers learned of Ruiz’s illegal immigration status and turned him over to federal authorities.

     Acting U.S. Attorney McCormack commended the investigative work of the Manchester Police Department and Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Enforcement Removal Operations, which led to the successful prosecution of Ruiz.
