Carbon County Man Sentenced For Narcotics Trafficking Crime

SCRANTON, PA.- Last Thursday, a 44-year-old Lansford, Pennsylvania, man learned he would be spending over 15 years in federal prison, after being sentenced for distributing methamphetamine within the Middle District of Pennsylvania, specifically in the Carbon County, Pennsylvania area.
On Thursday, April 17, 2025, Jason Mika, 44, Lansford, Pennsylvania, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Karoline Mehalchick to 188 months in federal prison, to be followed by four years of supervised release, after pleading guilty to one count of Possessionwith Intent to Distribute 50 Grams or More of Methamphetamine.
Mika Pleads Guilty To Drug Trafficking
According to Acting U.S. Attorney John C. Gurganus, Mika previously appeared in Federal Court in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and pleaded guilty to possessing with the intent to distribute over 50 grams of a substance containing a controlled substance, methamphetamine.
During his previous plea allocation, Mika also admitted to possessing over 400 grams of methamphetamine, other controlled substances, and a revolver, all of which were located and seized during the execution of a court-authorized search warrant at Mika’s Lansford, Pennsylvania, home by members of Nesquehoning Police Department and other law enforcement investigators.
Acting U.S. Attorney Gurganus commended the investigative work to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Office of the Attorney General of Pennsylvania, the Nesquehoning Police Department, the Lehighton Borough Police Department, the Franklin Township Police Department, and the Carbon County District Attorney’s Office, which led to the successful prosecution of Mika.
