Police Charge Man For Sexually Assaulting Two Children In Northwest D.C.

WASHINGTON, DC.- Last Thursday, following an investigation into allegations of sexual assault, a 42-year-old Northwest, D.C., man was taken into custody and jailed after being charged in connection with sexually assaulting two children earlier this month inside a Northwest, D.C. home.
On Monday, July 14, 2025, Detectives of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Special Victims Unit received a report of unwanted sexual acts committed on two children in Northwest, D.C.
Detectives Determine Mahoney Sexually Assaulted The Kids
During the ensuing investigation, and following interviewing witnesses, including the victims, Detectives determined that Thomas Mahoney, 42, of Northwest, D.C., on Monday, July 14, 2025, between the hours of 11:11 a.m. and 5:31 p.m., sexually assaulted two children, a girl and a boy inside residence located on the 4000 Block of Massachusetts Avenue in Northwest, D.C.
Accordingly, on Thursday, July 17, 2025, Mahoney was taken into custody and formally charged with first-degree Child Sexual Abuse; and second-degree Child Sexual Abuse.
Mahoney was processed on the charges and was remanded to the D.C. Central Detention Facility, pending future court proceedings in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.
