NEW HAVEN, CT.- On Tuesday, a 39-year-old Stamford, Connecticut, man, and a known local drug dealer, learned he would be spending over the next six years in federal prison after being sentenced in Federal Court in New Haven, Connecticut, for distributing large quantities of deadly fentanyl throughout the Stamford, Connecticut area.

According to U.S. Attorney David X. Sullivan, on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, Darius Gamble, also known as “Rell,” 39, of Stamford, Connecticut, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Victor A. Bolden to 80 months in federal prison, to be followed by four years of supervised release, after pleading guilty to a federal drug trafficking offense.

Gamble Pleads Guilty Earlier This Year To Drug Trafficking

Gamble, who has been detained since his September 2024 arrest, appeared on January 13, 2025, and pleaded guilty to one count of Possession with Intent to Distribute 40 Grams or More of a Controlled Substance, Fentanyl.

According to charging documents and statements made in the District Court, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration’s Bridgeport High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force and the Stamford Police Department launched an investigation into Gamble’s drug trafficking. During the investigation, Investigators and Detectives identified Gamble as a large-scale fentanyl distributor.

Investigators Make Four Purchases Of Fentanyl From Gamble

Between April and September 2024, Investigators made four controlled purchases of fentanyl from Gamble. On September 12, 2024, following the controlled purchases, Gamble was taken into custody. On that date, Investigators executed a court-authorized search warrant on Gamble’s Nobile Street residence in Stamford, Connecticut. During the search, Investigators located and seized around 42 grams of fentanyl, a kilogram press machine, a respirator mask, additional items used to process and package illicit controlled substances, and around, $13,307 in U.S. currency.

A subsequent court-authorized search of Gamble’s vehicle also uncovered an additional six grams of fentanyl.
