BALTIMORE, MD.- On Monday, a 32-year-old Hagerstown, Maryland, man, previously convicted of sexually abusing an 8-year-old child, learned he will be spending nearly four decades in federal prison, after being sentenced for horrifically sexually abusing two young Maryland children and filming the abuse.
According to U.S. Attorney Kelly O Hayes, on Monday, July 28, 2025, Harrison James Miller, 37, of Hagerstown, Maryland, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Brendan A. Hurson to 444 months in federal prison, to be followed by a lifetime of supervised release for his guilty plea to federal child exploitation offenses.
Miller Previously Pleaded Guilty To Three Federal Counts
Miller previously appeared in Federal Court in Baltimore, Maryland, and pleaded guilty to two counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Child; and one count of Commission of a Felony Crime Involving a Minor by a Registered Sex Offender.
According To Court Documents
According to the charging information and statements made in the District Court, Miller was ordered to register as a sex offender in the national database after being convicted of a sex crime in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania involving an 8-year-old child. In August 2022, upon his release from prison, Miller moved to Hagerstown, Maryland.
While residing in Hagerstown, Maryland, Miller gained access to two young children, ages four and five, and then began to sexually abuse them over a period of several months. Additionally, while sexually abusing the children, Miller took digital images of the children, which he stored in a password-protected folder on his cellular phone.
Maryland law enforcement Officers arrested Miller after one of the children disclosed the sexual abuse to his mother. During a court-authorized search of Miller’s cellular phone, forensic investigators uncovered the hidden digital images and other items of evidence.
U.S. Attorney Hayes commended the investigative work of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Washington County State’s Attorney’s Office, and the Hagerstown Police Department, which led to the successful prosecution of Miller.
