BRIDGEPORT, CT.- A 35-year-old New Haven, Connecticut, man and a known convicted drug dealer will be spending over six years in federal prison, after being sentenced on Wednesday for his role in a drug trafficking network that was responsible for distributing large quantities of deadly fentanyl throughout the streets of New Haven, Connecticut.

According to U.S. Attorney David X. Sullivan, on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, Jesus Seguinot, also known as “Chuchi,” 35, of New Haven, Connecticut, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Stefan R. Underhill to 78 months in federal prison, to be followed by a term of supervised release for his conviction of a federal drug trafficking conspiracy.

According To Court Documents

According to charging documents filed and statements made during Wednesday’s sentencing hearing, on June 25, 2020, Seguinot was sentenced in Federal Court in New Haven, Connecticut, to 30 months in federal prison, followed by three years of supervised release for narcotics distribution and gun possession offenses.

In May 2021, Seguinot was released from federal prison and began his term of supervised release. In October 2021, the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Safe Streets Task Force received credible information that Luis Salaman, also known as “Bebe,” was distributing large quantities of illicit narcotics throughout the streets of New Haven, Connecticut, and launched an investigation.

Investigators Determined That Srguinot Was Distributing Fentanyl

The investigation uncovered that Salaman worked with Sequinot and others to distribute fentanyl. Between November 2021 and March 2022, Investigators made multiple controlled buys of distribution quantities of fentanyl from Salaman, Seguinot, and their associates. Investigators also learned that during the controlled buys, Seguinot possessed a firearm.

On April 10, 2023, following the controlled buys, Seguinot was taken into custody. On December 19, 2024, a Federal Jury found Seguinot and Salaman guilty of conspiracy to distribute 40 grams or more of a controlled substance, fentanyl. The jury additionally found Salaman guilty of three counts of possession with intent to distribute and distribution of 40 grams or more of a controlled substance, fentanyl.

In handing down the sentence on Wednesday, Judge Underhill noted Sequinot’s extensive criminal history, including state convictions for drug distribution and weapons possession offenses.
