JERSEY CITY, NJ.- Last Wednesday, a 35-year-old Jersey City, New Jersey, woman, formerly employed as a Jersey City Police Officer, was jailed after being found guilty on multiple counts of official misconduct and hindering apprehension in connection with harboring a wanted man inside her Jersey City apartment between September 2022 and February 2023.

According to Acting Hudson County Prosecutor Wayne Mello, on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, following a trial in Hudson County Superior Court, a Jury found Page Rivera, 35, of Jersey City, New Jersey, guilty of second-degree Official Misconduct for Non-Performance of Duties; second-degree Official Misconduct for Unauthorized Use of an Official Function; third-degree Patern of Official Misconduct; and third-degree Hindering Apprehension.

Following Being Convicted, Rivera Was Remanded To Custody

Following the jury returning their findings of guilt, a Superior Court Judge remanded Riverea into custody pending sentencing, which has been tentatively scheduled for October 10, 2025. At that time, Rivera faces a mandatory minimum of five years and up to ten years in New Jersey State Prison on each of the second-degree counts of official misconduct. On the third-degree count of official misconduct and the third-degree hindering apprehension, Rivera faces up to five years in State Prison.

According To The Evidence Presented At Trial

Assistant Hudson County Prosecutor Daniel Gilbert presented evidence during the trial that proved beyond a reasonable doubt that between September 28, 2022, and February 17, 2023, while in Jersey City, New Jersey, and while employed as a Jersey City Police Officer, committed multiple acts of official misconduct as a sworn Police Officer.

The acts of official misconduct included Rivera’s non-performance of her duties as a police officer, as well as the commission of unauthorized acts, such as hindering the detention, apprehension, investigation, and prosecution of a fugitive, Fredrick Womack, by harboring or concealing Womack in connection with a shooting investigation.

Womack was eventually taken into custody after he was found in Revera’s apartment and is currently serving a New Jersey State Prison sentence after pleading guilty to aggravated assault related to the shooting investigation in which he was a fugitive.
