Police Charge Man In Friday Night Northeast Armed Robbery

WASHINGTON, DC.- On Friday, a 19-year-old Washington, D.C., man was quickly apprehended and jailed after being charged in connection with an alleged Friday night armed robbery that took place in Northeast, D.C.
According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Friday, August 1, 2025, just shortly after 6:00 p.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Sixth District responded to multiple reports of an armed robbery on the 1400 Block of Eastern Avenue in Northeast, D.C.
Upon arrival, Police Officers learned that a suspect approached a victim, pulled out a handgun, and demanded that the victim hand over his money and cell phone. The suspect grabbed the victim’s cell phone and fled the scene on foot.
Police Track Cell Phone And Quickly Arrest Suspect
While canvassing the area, Police Officers were able to track the victim’s cell phone. Police Officers quickly located the suspect, later identified as Andre Williams, 19, of Northeast, D.C., and took him into custody. Based on the Detectives’ follow-up investigation, Williams was formally charged with one count of Armed Robbery.
Williams was processed on the charge and, at that time, remanded to the D.C. Central Detention Facility, pending future court proceedings in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.
