Leominster Man Charged With Possession Of Child Pornography

BOSTON, MA.- Last Thursday, following an investigation, a 36-year-old Leominster, Massachusetts, man was taken into custody and charged with a federal child pornography offense.
According to U.S. Attorney Leah B. Foley, on Thursday, August 7, 2025, Brian Cook, 36, of Leominster, Massachusetts, was charged by federal criminal complaint with one count of Possession of Child Pornography. On Friday, August 8, 2025, Cook appeared for his initial appearance in Federal Court in Worcester, Massachusetts, and entered a not guilty plea to the charge.
According To Charging Information Filed In The Federal Complaint
According to the charging information filed in the criminal complaint, during an investigation into internet child pornography activities, Cook was identified as utilizing the internet to view, download, and possess digital images and video files depicting the sexual exploitation and abuse of prepubescent and pubescent children.
Following being identified, Federal and State Investigators obtained and executed a court-authorized search warrant at Cook’s Leominster residence. During the search, Investigators located and seized multiple electronic devices, including hard drives, computers, and laptops. During an initial review of the computers and hard drives, Investigators uncovered media files containing child pornography. Investigators will complete an extensive forensic examination of the seized electronic devices.
If convicted at trial, Cook faces a mandatory minimum of five years and up to 20 years in federal prison, at least five years and up to a lifetime of supervised release, and a fine of up to $100,000. Cook would also be required to make restitution to his identified victims.
U.S. Attorney Foley commended the investigative work of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Leominster Police Department, and the Worcester Police Department, which led to Cook’s arrest.
