Woman Fatally Gunned Down Yesterday Morning In Northeast D.C.

WASHINGTON, DC.- A 36-year-old Northeast, D.C., woman became the 101st victim, and the second person to be killed in less than 48 hours in the never-ending violence plaguing the Nation’s Capitol City, after she was fatally gunned down Wednesday morning inside a Benning Road residence in Northeast, D.C. The fatal shooting comes just two days after President Trump announced the federal takeover of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department.
According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, just after 11:00 a.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Fifth District responded to 911 Emergency Calls reporting a shooting on the 3300 Block of Benning Road in Northeast, D.C.
Upon Arrival, Police Officers Find Woman Shot Inside Home
Upon arrival, Police Officers located a woman, identified as Mignon Brown-Massey, 36, of Northeast, D.C., unresponsive but breathing, inside the residence, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The woman was immediately transported by DC Fire and Emergency Services to a nearby hospital, where, despite lifesaving efforts, Ms. Brown-Massey tragically succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased a short time later.
