According to Acting U.S. Attorney Troy Rivetti, on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, a Federal Grand Jury for the Western District of Pennsylvania returned a two-count indictment charging Lav Adamov, 20, of Zrenjanin, Serbia, who is in the United States on a student visa, with one count of Receipt of Child Pornography; and one count of Possession of Child Pornography.

According to the charging information unsealed in the indictment on Tuesday, it is alleged that beginning on or about January 13, 2025, and lasting through on or about May 15, 2025, Adamov utilized the internet to receive material depicting the sexual exploitation and abuse of a child. The indictment further alleges that, in May 2025, Adamov was found to be in possession of digital images and video files depicting the sexual exploitation and abuse of a child.
If convicted at trial, on the charge of receipt of child pornography, Adamov faces a maximum of 20 years in federal prison, at least five years, and up to a lifetime of supervised release, and a $250,000 fine. On the charge of possession of child pornography, Adamov faces a maximum of 10 years in federal prison, at least five years, and up to a lifetime of supervised release, and a $250,000 fine. When sentenced, upon a finding of guilt, a U.S. District Court Judge will determine the term of imprisonment based on the seriousness of the offenses and Adamov’s prior criminal history, if any.
Acting U.S. Attorney Rivetti commended the investigative work of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Erie Police Department, which led to the indictment of Adamov.

“The rules of the federal court require us to include a statement that states: The charges outlined in this publication are merely accusations, and the defendant and or defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt.”
