Union City Man Charged With Sexually Groping Preteen & Teen Girls

UNION CITY, NJ.- On Wednesday, following an investigation, a 26-year-old Union City, New Jersey, man was taken into custody and jailed after being charged in connection with allegedly sexually groping two children, a 12-year-old girl, and a 13-year-old girl at a public swimming pool in Union City in June of 2024.

     According to Acting Hudson County Prosecutor Wayne Mello, Malik Pardo, 26, of Union City, was formally charged on Wednesday with second-degree Sexual Assault by Sexual Contact; and three counts of third-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child. 

Pardo Was Arrested On Wednesday And Remanded To Jail

     Pardo was taken into custody on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, by Detectives of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit in the area of New York Avenue and 9th Street in Union City, New Jersey. He was processed on the charges and was remanded to the Hudson County Correctional Facility, pending future court proceedings in Hudson County Superior Court in Jersey City, New Jersey.

     During the course of the investigation, Detectives also uncovered that Pardo had sent sexually explicit messages to both children. If convicted at trial, Pardo faces up to 20 years in New Jersey State Prison.

     Acting Prosecutor commended the investigative work of the Hudson County Special Victims Unit, with the assistance of the Union City Police Department, for the arrest and charges being filed against Pardo.
