Pemberton Township Man Charged With Production Of Child Pornography

Sunday, August 17, 2025, 8:00 A.M. ET. 2 Minute Read, By Art Fletcher: Englebrook Independent News,

PEMBERTON, NJ.- Last Friday, following an investigation, a 23-year-old Pemberton Township, New Jersey, man employed at a children’s summer camp was taken into custody and charged in connection with allegedly posing as an underage girl to entice young boys into sending him sexually explicit digital images and video files of themselves.

According to Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia L. Bradshaw, Kristopher Trela, 23, of Pemberton Township, New Jersey, is formally charged with first-degree Manufacturing Child Pornography; second-degree Distribution of Child Pornography; second-degree Possession of Child Pornography; third-degree Debauching to Morals of a Child; third-degree Distribution of Obscenity to Minors; and third-degree Possession of Child Pornography.

Trela was taken into custody on Friday, August 8, 2025. After being processed on the charges, Trela made his initial appearance in Burlington County Superior Court in Mount Holly, New Jersey, and was released on monitoring conditions pending future court proceedings.

The arrest and charges stem from an investigation that began when the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office received multiple CyberTips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding Trela’s online activities.

Detectives Uncover That Trela Posed As A Girl Online

During the investigation, Detectives determined that Trela would engage with underage boys on various Social Media platforms, including Discord, Instagram, and Snapchat. He would claim to be an underage girl and send explicit digital images and video files of the purported girl, and ask them to send videos of themselves masturbating. Further investigation uncovered that Trela had additional online conversations with others, where he requested child pornography, which he traded with adult males online.

Trela Was Employed At Summer Camp Program For Kids

At the time of his arrest, Trela was employed at the Champions Before-and-After-School Care Program, which serves students enrolled in the Southampton Township School system and also operates a summer camp for children. Detectives determined that, at this point in the investigation, there is no reason to believe that any of the videos found in Trela’s possession involved children from the Champions program. A representative of the program has reported that Trela has been terminated from his position.

Anyone who believes they may have been victimized by Trela or who may have additional information regarding this investigation is urged to contact the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office at tips@co.burlington.nj.us. All information will be kept confidential.
