According to U.S. Attorney David X. Sullivan, on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, Danny Turkvan, also known as “Smooth,” 54, of Stamford, Connecticut, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Michael P. On April 11, 2025, Turkvan appeared in Federal Court in Hartford, Connecticut, and pleaded guilty to one count of Conspiracy to Distribute and to Possess with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance, Cocaine. Turkvan, who remains free on a $150,000 bond, must surrender to the U.S. Bureau of Prisons on October 16, 2025.
According To Court Documents
According to court documents, during an investigation into drug distribution, the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Bridgeport High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force and the Stamford Police Department identified Rodney Canada, also known as “Supreme,” as the leader of a large-scale drug trafficking organization that was responsible for distributing large quantities of cocaine, crack cocaine, fentanyl, and heroin throughout Stamford and other areas in Southwestern Connecticut.
The investigation, which included court-authorized wiretaps and controlled buys of illicit narcotics, uncovered that Canada and others coordinated the street-level distribution of drugs through Turkvan and others.
On May 14, 2024, Turkvan, Canada, and other members of the drug trafficking organization were taken into custody and federally charged. On that date, Investigators executed court-authorized search warrants at locations in Stamford, Norwalk, Bridgeport, and Darien, and seized around three kilograms of cocaine, nearly 400 grams of raw fentanyl, more than 500 single-dose bags of fentanyl, five firearms, a bulletproof vest, and seven vehicles.
Canada has recently appeared in Federal Court in Hartford, Connecticut, pleaded guilty, and is currently awaiting sentencing.
