Dallas Man Charged In New Jersey Sextortion Scheme

LYNDHURST, NJ.- On Thursday, following an investigation, a 26-year-old Dallas, Texas, man was taken into custody and jailed after being charged in connection with an alleged sextortion scheme that victimized a New Jersey adult and a New Jersey child.
According to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella, in April 2025, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit received information from the Lyndhurst Police Department regarding acts of online sexual extortion. Detectives of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit initiated an investigation and uncovered that an online stranger contacted an adult and a child through the Social Media application Snapchat.
During The Initial Investigation, Detectives Identified The Suspect As A Texas Resident
The preliminary investigation determined that, over the course of the previous few months, the online stranger instructed the adult and child victims to record and send photos and video files of themselves engaged in illicit sexual acts. Detectives were ultimately able to track the stranger’s social media activity to a residence located in Dallas, Texas.
On Thursday, August 14, 2025, with the assistance of the Dallas, Texas Police Department and the U.S.Marshals Service, Detectives of Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit traveled to Dallas, Texas, and executed a court-authorized search warrant at the identified residence. The investigation further uncovered that Quristafer D. Land, 26, of Dallas, Texas, was the user of the social media Snapchat account, extorting the victims and obtaining digital images and video files of them engaged in sexual acts.
Detectives also determined that Land utilized the likeness and identity of another person to create multiple online accounts used to commit his crimes.
On Thursday, August 14, 2025, following the execution of the search warrant, Land was taken into custody in Dallas, Texas, pursuant to the charges filed in Bergen County Superior Court by Detectives of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office. Land was formally charged with first-degree Production of Child Pornography; second-degree Aggravated Sexual Extortion; and third-degree Sexual Extortion.
After being charged, Land was remanded to the Dallas County, Texas, Jail under a fugitive from justice warrant pending extradition to New Jersey.
