Police Charge Maryland Man In 2024 Southeast, D.C. Stabbing

WASHINGTON, DC.- On Monday, a 49-year-old Baltimore, Maryland, man was taken into custody and jailed after being charged in connection with a stabbing that occurred in April of 2024, in Southeast, D.C.
According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Monday, April 22, 2024, just shortly after 8:30 p.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department responded to reports of a stabbing on the 4800 Block of F Street in Southeast, D.C.
Police Find Victim Stabbed
Upon arrival, Police Officers were informed by the victim that while they were on F Street, they were approached by the suspect, who pulled out a knife and stabbed them. The victim was transported by DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services to a local hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening stab wound.
During the ensuing investigation, based on a description provided by witnesses, including the victim, Detectives were able to identify the suspect as Dennis Christie, 49, of Baltimore, Maryland, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On Monday, August 18, 2025, pursuant to the D.C. Superior Court warrant, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force located and arrested Christie. After being taken into custody, Christie was formally charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon. He was processed on the charge and was remanded to the D.C. Central Detention Facility pending future court proceedings in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.
