LEXINGTON, KY.- A 42-year-old Harrodsburg, Kentucky, registered sex offender will be spending the next four decades in federal prison, after being sentenced on Thursday for enticing two children to engage in a sex act in exchange for money.

According to Acting U.S. Attorney Paul McCaffrey, on Thursday, August 21, 2025, Larry Coffman, 42, of Harrodsburg, Kentucky, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Karen Caldwell to 480 months in federal prison, to be followed by a lifetime of supervised release for his conviction on two counts of Sex Trafficking a Child; and Committing a Felony Involving a Minor While Being A Registered Sex Offender.

Coffman Was Convicted On The Charges In April 2025

Coffman was convicted on the charges in April 2025. According to the evidence and testimony presented at trial, in February 2023, Coffman solicited, recruited, and enticed two children to engage in sex acts in exchange for something of value.

At the time of the offenses, Coffman had been convicted of a prior sexual offense and, as a result of his conviction, Coffman had been required and was a registered sex offender in the national database.

Acting U.S. Attorney McCaffrey commended the investigative work of the Homeland Security Investigations, the Harrodsburg Police Department, and the Madison County Sheriff’s Department, which led to the successful prosecution of Coffman.
