Huntington’s “Mook” Pleads Guilty To Federal Drug Crime

HUNTINGTON, W.VA.- A 40-year-old Huntington, West Virginia, man, and local Huntington drug dealer, will be facing up to 20 years in federal prison when he is sentenced later this year, after pleading guilty to selling nearly two ounces of fentanyl to an informant earlier this year in Huntington, West Virginia.

     According to Acting U.S. Attorney Lisa G. Johnston, on Monday, August 25, 2025, Marcus Allen Johnson, also known as “Mook,” 40 of Huntington, West Virginia, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia and pleaded guilty before U.S. District Court Judge Robert C. Chambers to Distribution of a Quantity of a Controlled Substance, Fentanyl.

Judge Chambers Schedules Sentencing For December 8, 2025

     Following entering his guilty plea on Monday, Judge Chambers accepted the plea and scheduled sentencing for December 8, 2025. At that time, Johnson faces up to 20 years in federal prison, at least three years of supervised release, and a fine of up to $1 million. At sentencing, a U.S. District Court Judge will determine the term of imprisonment based on the seriousness of the offense and Johnson’s prior criminal history.

Johnson Sold Fentanyl To An Informant

     According to statements made during Monday’s plea hearing, on January 14, 2025, during an ongoing narcotics investigation, Johnson sold around 53.76 grams of a mixture containing fentanyl to a confidential informant during a controlled buy under the observation of law enforcement Investigators.

     The transaction occurred in the informant’s vehicle, which was parked on 10th Avenue in Huntington, West Virginia. During his plea allocution, Johnson admitted to selling the fentanyl to the informant and arranging the sale beforehand.

     Acting U.S. Attorney Johnston commended the investigative work of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Cabell County Sheriff’s Office, which led to the arrest and Johnson’s guilty plea on Monday.
